Memphis

We took a day trip to Memphis a couple of Saturdays ago (the same Saturday that Hayden sneezed on the table) so we could eat at Rendezvous, a fabulous B-B-Q joint in the back alley of downtown Memphis. Also so we could take Hayden to the children's museum. We had a great time once we got there, the 3 hour trip was actually pleasant with a 2 yr old, having only stopped once Hayden did GREAT! I took the Nintendo DS because I knew that once he saw it he would want to play with it for a while, as well as other toys for Hayden. After eating Hayden saw the Trolley and wanted to ride, since it was getting later and we still wanted to go to the museum we told him afterwards we would ride the trolley. So we headed to the museum and being a Saturday it was PACKED, I mean a total madhouse, literally a zoo in the place. But we pressed on and continued to have fun. Hayden got to pilot a Fed-Ex plane, Jeff showed him everything in the cockpit, although Hayden really knew exactly what he was doing after seeing the plane Jeff flies on at the guard base. He slid down a gi-normous slide about a million times, he learned how to change the tire on a car, he also got to drive a police motorcycle, a real one. Pretty cool place, but I don't recommend going there on the weekends, maybe take off one day during the week during a school year and go. By the time we were finished playing in the museum Hayden was wiped out and so was I, he had forgotten all about the trolley ride so we headed for home. It was a very quiet ride going home as well, Hayden slept from the time we put him in the car until we were about 45 minutes away from home! God is good!!!

I love Rendevous! We used to go there when I was at Ole Miss. Lots of good memories at that place. Hayden looks so big in those pictures!

That place is soooo good, and LOVED the atmosphere! And Hayden has gotten so big, to big if you ask me.

What a great trip! I LOVE the pics! Glad he did well. We haven't been brave enough to do a day trip with Clay yet. Eeek!
